Hi! I have to two questions:

1. I will leave the country on 12/Jan., My report data is on 4/Jan. Actually the emigration office allows foreigner to report a week late. If the airport gonna charge me, how much do I have to pay for fine? (200baht for one day late) Will they count from 4/Jan or 7 days after 4/Jan?

2. My visa will be expired on Oct.2008, I wanna go back to my country for a while, but I am not sure when I will come back to Thailand. Is that okay if I write my re-entry data on Sep. 2008 before my visa expire? Thank you! anyone who knows about this issue pls write me back!

#1 Since your overstay will be more than 7 days they will fine you 500 baht per day from the 4th of Jan.

I don't understand your second question.

Terry, I think he is talking about his 90 day address report in which case the fine is 2,000 Baht for not doing it. I dont think the airport imigration will pick this up.

As for question 2 . I don,t understand it iether.

Just read it again and it looks as though he is on an extension of stay. In which case if he does not have a re entry permit his extension will be cancelled when he leaves Thailand on the 12th.

All not very clear though.

I suspect you are talking about the TM.8 form where they ask your travel return date and you can put any date in there prior to the expiration of your extension of stay (Oct2008). The re-entry permit will always have the same (Oct2008) expiration date as your normal extension of stay.

As for not reporting that will hit you, if they notice, 90 days after your return when you make your first report. They might check and notice that you departed 8 days after you were due to report. That could get expensive, and they are not limited to 2,000 baht when they catch you. Unlikely to be a problem, probably, but I would make the report myself just to be sure.

One more question thank you

Can I come back to Thailand before the re-entry date on my passport? E.g,. If my re-entry data is on Sep. can I fly back to Thailand in June ?

Radiobutt.

You are still not coming across clearly.

"Can I just write my re-entry data before my visa expired",

"Can I come back to Thailand before the re-entry date on my passport"

Difficult to understand what these questions mean, so best to try to re-word in

order to get a meaningful answer.

If you are talking about the date on a re-entry permit that is stamped into your passport prior to travel you can return any time up until that date (the date will be your current permitted to stay until date on your extension of stay) - so if you want to come back earlier (and you normally would) you can freely do so - that date will be the date you must submit a new application for extension of stay if you intend to remain in Thailand for the next year.

which means I can fly back to Thailand before the date on a re-entry permit that is stamped into my passport ?

You can return any time before the expiry date on your re-entry permit, that's the purpose

of the re-entry permit.

Simply put it "keeps you visa valid" untill that date.

In this context, for “visa” read “extension of stay”

Sorry to hijack this thread but:

I was supposed to report in for the 90 days on december third. Will I have to pay 2000 baht and 200 baht per day late or just 2000 baht?

Just the 2000 baht, but your passport will be stamped to show that you missed reporting.
