Weird Internet Problem-- Thai Rath Does Not Load

Featured Replies

We changed our maxnet DSL package from Indy/Home to Premier last week and now my husband can't access Thai Rath. If the front page loads (which it often doesn't) then clicking on a link in the page doesn't work. Get the "page cannot be displayed" message.

It is only Thai Rath that doesn't load, the other Thai language newspapers load with no problems.

Could be a coincidence, but seems unlikely. I've tried changing the DNS settings but that didn't seem to make a difference.

Any suggestions on what to do?

I can't access the site at TRUE Samut Parkarn, IE , Firefox and OPERA din't even show the first page. A ping is time out!

So, the server isn't online or blocked!

Not sure if this is the exact address you're trying, but i just checked http://www.thairath.co.th and it's working fine on True in Chiang Mai.

Was the same address!! But now the site is up an running!

But the ping still is Request Timed Out at Thairath.co.th (203.151.217.76)! A bit starngeor Thai Rath didn't allow to be pinged!

Nope still timing out. I have tried typing in the exact address with http and all, nothing. It times out. It's been like this for about a week, whereas before, at least on the old indy package, it worked when other sites were not working. Weird.

I have HiNet from TT&T/CAT and everything loads fine.

OK, typing in Reimar's above IP address brings up Thai Rath but typing in the whole www.thairath.co.th address including the http and without the http, times out.

do you get the same IP as reimar when you bring up a DOS box and type in ping www.thairath.co.th ?

if not it could mean that the DNS server you are using has not updated correctly or could be poisoned.

No, I get 203.151.217.25 Reimar got 203.151.217.76--

so, even though I changed to Open DNS numbers, i still had it timing out. I didn't ping on Open DnS tho

some routers will cache DNS requests , maybe Iexplorer does as well , I am not sure - you might want to google purging the DNS cache on your browser/router

Both those IP numbers brings up Thairath. Maybe mirror servers and routing from you to one of them is failing. My ping also brings up .76.
