I plan to go to england later this year and my wife wants me to bring back baxters royal game soup with me.I know bringing perishable food into thailand is a no no and bringing food to resell is no no.However is it ok to bring non perishable food (tinned food, tea bags, sweets, non alcahol drinks) for your own personal consumption

I think you are probably worrying too much. Over time I have brought in Chrismas Fare (Puddings, Mince Pies), packs of the traditional English banger (all crap and rusk and minimal meat but delicious), a black pudding, bags of sweets for my kids, chocolates for my wife and never a problem, even on the very rare occasion I was stopped by customs for a bag search.

I stand to be corrected, but I have never heard of a case where somebody has had problems because of possession of Baxter's Royal Game Soup :o

If you are just bringing in some supplies for yourself there should be no problems, this is not Australia, where you declare anything edible or risk major problems if the quarentine folk find so much as a single sausge. I even declare my duty free chocolates.

If, however if you are planning to do this for a business it is a little more complicated. At that point I would post in the SME sub-forum or just sand a PM to raro to find out the grief. Best to post in the forum so a few of us can get the low-down.

Yes, you could get years for possession of a Ginsters sausage roll. Don't blame them.....
