bubba
We are about to have TOT broadband connected. The word from TOT is that they allow "one computer per phone number". I know a lot of the broadband companies have a policy of only connecting one machine, and we certainly would not tell them that we have successfully connected routers, but regarding TOT specifically: has anyone connected a router to their service? Does anyone know if they use MAC filtering to prevent other machines from being connected, apart from the machine to which is originally connected by the installer? bubba
Thanks Chingy, that's good to hear. I guess that means they are not being devious and using MAC filtering for individual ethernet connectors. Much appreciated!
cathyy
And even if they are using MAC filtering it's no big deal. That's what the MAC cloning feature on most routers is there for...
meadish_sweetball
I wish I could understand what you are talking about without having to study all that tech-crap first.
