How Do I Renew My 12 Month Visa

Featured Replies

Can anyone help please?

I am reading up on all the visa requirements and will be coming over to Thailand on a 12 month multi entry visa.

I understand about having to do visa runs every 90 days but where do I go to renew the visa once the 12 months comes to an end.

Do I need to return to UK or can it all be done in Thailand?

You can apply at any Thai Embassy or Consulate outside of Thailand. Some Thai offices are easier than others. Enquire on this forum at the time you need to get a new visa. You can get 12 month extension of your visa in Thailand if you can meet the financial obligations for retirement, ie. 800,000 baht in a bank account in Thailand, or a pension or the like of 65,000 baht per month or a combination of savings and income.

If your over 50. If not then it generally means a trip home every 15 months, which is what I do. Make your last border run a day or 2 before it expires and you will be stamped in for a further 90 days.

You do not say on what grounds you got the Visa. It may be possible to extend it in Thailand or get another one in a neighbouring country. As you are looking 15 months down, the line who knows.

With your current one it will be possible to make it last 15 months if you do a border run a couple of days before it expires.
