Health Insurance

Featured Replies

Could someone offer some advice on some good basic health insurance. I will be in Thailnd with my wife and 6 month old son working for 6 months. We are arriving from the UK. Obviously basic travel insurance does not cover us for this period.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you

It depends on the cover you require.

BUPA Blue Cross offers good cover at local hospital rates,

they cover my Thai family for me.

If you want cover overseas as well then I suggest you look at Royal & Sun Alliance

contact tony or colin (092138320 or 06 305 0970 or 02 255 5369) of Overseas Financial Services and ask about the Ultra Care Package from Royal and Sun Alliance.

its a good healthcare package specially suited for expats, its cheaper than the standard royal sun package, some of the "value added" features that are not really necessary have been taken out. it might suit your needs.

you could contact royal and sun themselves but to get the ultracare policy you may have to go through tony or colin. they are good people and easy to deal with.

Thanks very much for your help. The Blue Cross one looks quite good and I will check it out.

Would you have email addresses for the Royal and Sun Alliance guys you mentioned as I am not in Thailand until November?

Best wishes

AIA 02-634-8888 if you require a real insurance company where your agent will actually liase with the hospital and or police in person. Go for BUPA if you want to go economy and help to expand their local office from their 9th floor rental on Silom.
