why did I believe that comming to Thailand, with my Thai wife and my double nationality children (aquired only a few months ago), comming with a multiple entry visa of one year, type O, that I could be here for one year, without doing visa runs ?

When in our home country, my wife called the thai embassy and also immigration in Thailand, to ask ...

We were all thinking that comming to Thailand, as married to a Thai wife, I would just, after 90 days of stay, get a stamp at immigration... that is what we all believed...

How stupid and blind I (we) were ... I hear you thinking.

Had a big shock at immigration, after filling in the paper to notice to stay over 90 days, and hoping it would just be a stamp and then had back home, that my visa was on my last day of validity and I would have to get out of the country ...TODAY...

How mis-informed can one be ... ?

I was wondering if there were some other mis-informed people here on the forum being in the same case as I am ...

I glady, after a lot of time of convincing of my wife, could get an extention of 60 days, to visit my own children in this country...

So i'm up to the visa run thingie in less than 55 days ...

If there is some experienced Cambodia border run veteran, who wants a free ride to the border (in +- 50 days) in exchange for sharing the experience about filling in the papers, and going to the right and genuinel Thai and Cambodia border officials ...

I red some cowboy and indians stories about fake officials in the no man's land zone, etc...

Ride (mini van) would be provided ... up to 5 people could come (2 big seats in one row 1, 3 places in the back and even one stop next to the driver) ... 5 - meself - free riding along veteran = 3 - 4 other seats available ... to share the gass

if you plan to do a Cambodia border run in about that period (+- 50 days) let me know ... PM me

I was reading on this site about visa runs and I tought, those people are not married with a Thai and I am, so I tought I was excemped of all that border running stuff...

On the other hand, If you are (were) in the same situation as me at immigration, can let me know also ...

If the main purpose of people having to leave the country for a few minutes / hours is the Thai way of getting some money out of us, why they don't start a service to let us pay for exemple 1000 baht tax per month ... in 3 months, we would even 3000 baht (or more) tax to the governement, no need to leave the country... no need for all that paper work ... I would be delighted to even pay if some official comes up with some idea or project like that

trying to enjoy my life in Thailand as a farang, Thai wife has a job here, children go to Thai school, I got some money monthly comming in, sadly enough all togehter not 4O K ...

40k per month gross income is not really a high requirement and I am sorry to see that you cannot meet it.

There is another possibility you can try. Look at paragraph 7.17, clause (5) of Royal Thai Police Order No. 606/2549. Ask immigration if they will give you annual extensions on this basis, ie for living with your Thai children. For this type of extension, no proof of income is needed.
