Hi Egg,I dont know much about jasmine but my wife grows it in England,I know very little but feel I must share what I do know with you because you have no replys. My wife tells me it is easy to grow in well drained soil with compost but must be kept watered. They also dont like direct sunlight (thats in england so the Thai sun would do it no good). My wife wants to grow it now.Very best of luck!

Jasmine are pretty easy to grow, depending somewhat on which type you are trying to culivate.

There are about 200 varieties ,ranging from large shrubs to prostrates, climbers and even ground-cover,some are evergreen ,some deciduous . Generally they like full sun or partial shade,as they originated in tropical and warm temperate climates.

Soil type does,nt seem to be a big factor as they grow well in both sandy and clay soils, they like to be kept moist (not wet). Composted manure dug in before planting seems to work well, but if fertilizing ,use a mild type similar to rose food.

Dont let them get to leggy, they can stand heavy pruning and shaping will give you a great display .

I have a liking for Night Perfume types, these open late in the day and give off a very heady perfume during the evening to attract moths which pollinate them.

I have a Star Jasmine in my garden here in Isaan and it has been moved about three times(to make way for T/W,s rose bushes) I just cut it back to 3 inches above ground before moving it and away it goes into new growth.
