so i accidentally plugged the Wii Adapter (110V input) straight into the 220V socket and i think it broke my adapter (heard a small pop after a few seconds when i plugged it in).

so my questions is, did this do any damage to the Wii? or did it only broke the adapter?

also, can the adapter be fixed? or will have to get a new one? and how much will a new adapter cost?

any help will be welcomed.. thanks

Probably just blew the internal fuse in the "Brick" u could have a quick open and check at the fuse. Otherwise can be repaired at MBK probably around the 1000 baht mark or just buy a new 110v-220v for not much more.

well, if the problem is the fuse, then wouldnt it take around 200baht to replace the fuse? also, the adapter uses a weird screw (called the Linehead) so i cant open it. otherwise, it should be a simple problem to solve...

does anyone know any good electronic shops in or near sukhumvit that might have screw drivers for the wii adapter?

Can wii purchased in the UK be used in Thailand ok or is it best to purchase in Thailand?

i dont think it matters, since the official wii adapter is 110v, so you will have to get another 220v to 110v adapter if you want it to work in thailand

A uk wii is 240v and will work fine in Thailand with a simple plug adaptor.

US / JAP - 110v will need new brick adaptor or stepdown transformer.

HK Wii will work fine with simple plug adaptor.
