cutethaigirl
we are coming to chiangmai next may to purchase a house Just like that?? Do you have any connection with Thailand? What nationality are you both? The normal advice...wise.. is RENT for a good time before even thinking about buying.
dr_Pat_Pong
I bet they have no clue about the ownership restrictions that apply to foreigners.
p1p
The simple rule of thumb is rent, rent, rent unless the property you like is so special you just have to own it. As a general rule of thumb, if you put the property purchase price in the bank, it is possible to receive more in interest than the rental costs! monkeygirl
http://www.chiangmainews.com/tanaboon/index.htm i agree, rent first until you know the area. don't buy furnished, you can choose your own furniture in a shop and have it delivered and set up for you inexpensively. if you're both disabled, stay away from the city in a nice moo-bahn like the one above and hire a maid/driver for when you want to go into town.
