Correct English Term For 'baan Jutsan'

What is the correct english translation for a group of houses in an area? ('Baan jutsan' in Thai). One of my friends called it a village but that sounds too primative. Any ideas?

Hmmm, is a "baan jutsan" the same thing as a "mooban?"  Never heard the former expression.  I live in a mooban, about 180 house total.

After considerable discussion, my wife informs me that 'baan jutsan' is a townhouse development, for low to middle income people. There may be other variations but, this is the one she uses.
