Eee Pc

Featured Replies

Generally, I noticed the EEE PC for quite a while.

I know that it runs in a Linux OS but I've got no other details.

I was just wondering how useful is the Linux in the EEE PC and whether I can do any accounting (Basically microsoft office's stuff) in the EEE PC with the Linux OS.

I appreciate all helps.

Hi Seizhin,

i don't know a lot about them either but here's a link for you with a reasonable amount of information on it:

OpenOffice.org does a really good job working with Microsoft Office formats.

Many distro of Linux are active building a release made just for the Eee.  Sure it will be many flavors.  Vary soon will be a flood of reviews.  Some have only just got the hardware to start.

Open Office works so well I put it in windows and all my Linux.  I don't use anything else.  I use it for HTML, Speedsheet, etc its all in one.  Can't beat the price. :o

A friend recently installed Ubuntu on eee PC and was quite satisfied with the results

You can run PClinuxOS and others too, but this is taking it up a step. http://www.pclinuxoshwdb.com/eeepc  (They hope) This is one of many to make a Eee pc distro.  I don't have one so haven't dug to deep.
