Furniture Removal Service In Pattaya?

Hi,

We are moving from a condo to a house soon and I don't want to go through the hassle again of loading up my pick up 3 or 4 times and getting the help of a few local motorbike taxi guys!

Does anyone know if a removal service exists in Pattaya? I had a quote from a BKK company the last time we moved but it would of been 15,000 THB for 3 trips and 2 hours work.

Last time I did it was a Baht Bus that I collared at the end of the road. He phoned his mate to come and help him, did 5 trips between them (not far, about 10 mins), and I didn't lift a finger all day. I agreed 500 baht beforehand, but they worked so hard for 4 or 5 hours I gave them 1,000 and they were chuffed to bits.

Sounds about the only option in Pattaya! Cheers. Just need to find an honest Baht Bus driver now :o

On Sukhumvit between Office Centre and the busstation of NCA, opposite Pattaya Klaang, you'll find some trucks being parked with telephone numbers on them.

They're there to serve you.

It's up 2 u, whether you only rent the truck + driver or maybe some extra hands.

A price indication: a removal of 1 condo and 1 house from the South Pattaya area to a bigger house in Chonburi City; full truck load; truck and driver; 60 kms one-way; total time 4 hours; 2004: THB 2,500 (two thousand five hundred baht).

Another example: the same truck with some household stuff from condo in Pattaya to Udon Thani City; 750 kms. one way, truck and driver; 2 days: THB 6,500 (six thousand five hundred baht).

Prices may have been increased over the last 4 years, but not more than approx. 15%. The people don't speak English, so please let a Thai take care. Go there, pay and advance an be clear in the appointments and directions.

Khun Wi Chit - 01-687-0835

Though he does speak a little English you'll need a Thai speaker to make arrangements. He'll come out to your place and give you a price. I've used him twice and a friend a couple of times with reasonable results. He has a crew of guys who've done it before. Open truck so check weather report.

Do a search on this topic....there was one about a year ago...I used a firm on Sukumvit...but for the life of me can't remember their name.

It was a Thai company but I got them through a Farang O/S shipper. They did a good job with a large "open" (10 tonne?) truck and a crew of about 6 guys and gals. they provide boxes and packing materials prior to removal day.

they charged 4500 for a removal that took most of a day (one trip) and about 30 km distance.

At the Sukhumvit end of Soi Khaotalo are a couple of trucks and a sign ona tree I think which my missus reliably informs me is just such a service.

Thats right 800 baht a trip for the truck last time I moved (12 months ago) plus 200 per extra guy per trip, Still very cheap and they never broke a thing.

For those who still enjoy Songran (I used to) they are great to hire for the day with 10 or so of your best friends.
