Are You Or Your Family Crop Dealers?

Hi,

We have quite a few rai here in Phetchabun where we can grow most things at all times of the year.Plenty of year round water on our land.

Recently we harvested 4 rai of garlic. We sold it ourselves in the village, but ideally I am looking for some dealers ....Say in Issann for example.

Do you, or some part of the family work in this field, looking to get a few more baht than the dealers here, who take the stuff and sell it to the Issann/ Bkk dealers.

Just trying to cut out a piece of the chain to benefit both parties. We farm around 10 rai.

Monkeypants - your crop will always give you a better return retailed by yourself as opposed to through a wholesaler.

How many kg's of garlic do you harvest off 10 rai - would if not be worth trucking it down to Gateway (Bkk's huge wholesale market) and selling it there yourselves?

Well we actually harvested 1300 kgs per rai.

Ideally looking for dealers to come to me, rather than me or/and family go to Bkk.

Want to sell it freshly picked, not dried, and dressed a month later.

Freshly picked garlic is a lower price per kilo, because it is the full plant, not just the bulb, somebody else dresses it up for market.

I am not interested in retailing only wholesale, having said that the garlic has all gone to be replaced with around 5 rai of chillies shortly, looking now for dealers from Issaan or BKK etc who want a regular order etc .
