I am looking for a place to escape from Bangkok for a few days.

It should not be too far away (maybe like up to 4 or 5 hours by bus/train or less).

Moderately priced and - this is important - with Internet access.

The purpose of the trip is - of course - to relax but still to be able to get some work done.

Personally I like places like e.g. Koh Samet. I have been to Ao Wong Duan Beach and had a bungalow close to the beach - but no internet.

So I prefer this kind of accomodation (bungalow, nice guesthouse) to any nonpersonal big hotel or hotel-like beach resort.

But the place I am looking for does not have to be on an island or in a beach town.

I heard a lot of nice things about Kanchanaburi.

So, does anybody have any suggestions?

Any ideas welcome.

If you stay at Sai Kaew beach, there are several internet cafes now.
