Really? For four years, I've purchased tickets online from Air Asia using my USA credit card. The address attached to my credit card is USA-based as well. If there's been a change from that policy, it's been within the last few months.

Me too. A few times now. Booked with an Aussie c/c and no worries. At one time the site crashed and I ended up on the phone... yawn... but eventually got a supervisor who did the business in exemplary fashion. But did stiff me for 50bht for the service.

this thread sums of the board perfectly. someone asks a specific question then everyone chimes in with evertything but th eanswer.

even you thaipro. citibank may be a usbank - but that is for all intents and purposes a 'thai' purchase.

note: US purchase, US credit/debit

that was the issue.

Jeez......bit harsh isn't it, people are only trying to be helpful..........only takes a minute to read the replies. :o

For the record i too have used a UK card with a Uk address to purchase Air Asia tickets the latest just this week from my computer here in Thailand.

I wouldn't of thought there was any difference between the UK and the US but who knows. ........sorry cant be more helpful. :D

lumak: Instead of criticizing my attempt to help, why not tell us how AirAsias reservation system knows a U.S. Card on a U.S. Bank can detect that the card holder changed his address from the U.S. to Thailand, since one can change ones address at Citibank by a mere key stroke or two to anywhere in the world!!

Just realised mine was a Thai purchase so even less helpful than i thought........

One sure fire way to find out if no one knows for sure here , is to find the cheapest Air Asia ticket and attempt to book it........might cost you a few bucks but at least you will know for sure. (assuming your currently in the US of course.) :o

EDIT:- Posting removed as just realised that Luumak is the ungrateful OP.
