Hey could someone please help me out here,

My tourist visa is getting nearer its expiring date as I've already used all the possible three stamps I got from Mae Sai from the border runs. So the next question is where to get a new tourist visa? (I've now been here in Chiang Mai for almost 6 months)

I'd like to know if it's possible to get it from Myanmar's (Burma) Thai Embassy or is there some particular reason I couldn't get it from there???

I'm also searching for the cheapest options here 'cause the money's starting to be somewhat finished due to all the shopping :o

Appreciate any information I can get :D

It would appear that you have used up all your brownie points for a while, and the likelyhood of getting another tourist visa anywhere is distinctly remote.

Take a look at the VISA SECTION and you should get some answers on there.

Not unless he has 4 years worth of tourist visa's, and 30 day visa on arrival stamps blottered thick in his passport, even then chances are it's not a big deal -

Get your hiney to the Viantiane Thai Embassy - take the Nok air RT from CM to Udorn and Bus to border. Now ask for the X@ the double entry costs 2000 baht but then you can extend 1 month after your initial 60 days, leave the country, then return for another 60 days then extend it for another month. Thats 6 months total!! No muss no fuss and no whining mewling on TV Also no mis information too.

You buy the 1 month extension for 1900 baht at immigration near the airport. Now lets get a move on and stop with the crying OK

Vientiane is the best option. If your cash doesn't run to airfares there's a direct bus from Chiang Mai to Udon Thani, then you change to the border crossing at Nong Khai. You'll have to stay the night in Vientiane and the Lao visa is available on entry for US$30.

This definitely needs to be moved to the Visa forum.

I'd like to know if the suggested course of action is viable. How long would the OP have to leave the country for ? For how long might one be able to remain here this way ?

Why is the OP getting stamps (entry permits ?) if she has a tourist visa ?

Another thread is now running in the Visa section.

Sounds like you're the one who needs to study the visa forum.

The principal question here is how the OP can obtain a new tourist visa starting from Chiang Mai. The best advice on this can be obtained from locals, hence the Mods have left it in the Chiang Mai forum.

Fair enough, but having two threads is not ideal.

I freely admit I have not been able to keep up to date with the tourist visa regulations. That's why I am asking. If someone can offer a simple explanation, I'd be grateful.
