The Europeans generally played great and made almost every putt of significance. With a few bright spots excepted, the Yanks generally stunk up the joint. Hard to win at 4-ball or alternate shot when one's partner can't keep the ball in play. That's definitely the recipe for a slaughter. To be competitive, the Yanks need to adjust to the modern Ryder Cup format like the Europeans have. The Yanks might have the "stronger" team based on the world rankings, but the Europeans have shown that they field the "hotter" team based upon who is playing well most recently. Until the Yanks adjust nothing will change. The Europeans winning 5 of the last 6, including the last 2 quite handily, should be ample evidence.
