February 21, 200818 yr Looking for Sukhumvit Area Hotel, under 1k baht. Any suggestions, and please don't mention the Miami.
February 21, 200818 yr I think the Crown on Soi 29 might be in that price range. Or try the Honey on Soi 19. The rooms on the ground floor off the parking lot are B800.
February 21, 200818 yr I am moving to Bangkok in May. It looks like I may need to stay in a hotel for as much as a week while I search apartments along the BTS. I don't need to be near lower Sukhumwit, just near the BTS. Any under 1k suggestions for that?
February 21, 200818 yr Maximis Soi 11. Not the best area in Nana, but it's OK for a "short time" a mate of mine stays at 'nanatai mansion' when he's in bkk. it's on suk soi 4. I think it's around the B1000 mark. he says it's ok.
February 21, 200818 yr Looking for Sukhumvit Area Hotel, under 1k baht. Any suggestions, and please don't mention the Miami. You can try Honey House(not same as Honey Hotel), Sukhumvit 22, closeby to Dan's Dive Shop, has decent rooms for 800 baht a night. You can check their website at http://www.honeyhouse.co.th .
February 21, 200818 yr there's a hotel in the big building behind the Nana City Inn Soi 4 that charged 800 baht for a clean, basic (A/C and tv) room about 2 years ago, can't remember what it was called...entrance on the side facing the car park... Edited February 21, 200818 yr by tutsiwarrior
February 21, 200818 yr rex hotel at thonglor is ok nice size rooms breakfast 1180 baht a night but they will do you a price for a weeks stay 5mins from bts
February 21, 200818 yr If you just need a place to sleep and use as a base from which to work, with no "ad hoc" companionship, the Atlanta (soi 2) is cheap, cool pool area, small library. They really are strict about not allowing "night owls w/friends", though.

It is almost impossible to get a reservation here because it is so cheap.Don't like to give business to Puritans, prudes and sex-fascists anyway!

I stayed with 2 friends in Honey House 2 (soi 22, 500 meters in from Suk.) in November 2007. New place, quite nice, and paid 890 baht/night/room, I will stay there again unless the price has doubled!
February 22, 200818 yr Ulysses GIt is almost impossible to get a reservation here because it is so cheap.Don't like to give business to Puritans, prudes and sex-fascists anyway! The place has horrible reviews. Depends on what you need, sure. For a basic QUIET clean, cheap place, sort of like a writer or just a stressed out neurotic (that's me) needing a place "away from it all" but within the city, it sure works for me. But if you bring any "excitement" onto the premises, they're not into that AT ALL, hence some people's discomfort, I'm guessing. Definitely a specialized (quiet) demographic. "In Nana, not OF Nana" as it were.
February 22, 200818 yr Promenade Hotel on Soi 8, easy walking distance from Nana BTS, usually can be had for around 1,100 per night, on a day to day basis... If you're staying a week or longer, I'm pretty sure they could hit 1,000.
February 24, 200818 yr Best Value Inn, near the endof Soi 7/1. Basic clean rooms, in room safe, friendly staff, no joiner fee, nice food. 900bt.

Sams Lodge hostel just after Soi 23 very clean air con tv fridge, 800 baht a night with breakfast when you buy a member card, but no guests allowed.
