Was cleaning an old unused covered raised salad bed garden today and came across what looked like a Cape gooseberry plant, the fruit were in like a chinese lantern, but the covering was greenish, the plant is about 18in high and 2ft span, has lots of small daisy like flowers [white petals, yellow center]on it and many fruits, We have the chinchinese_lantern2.jpgese lantern varitiey climbing up the tamarind trees, Mrs has never seen this one before on the farm, and for all the world, it looks like a cape gooseberry, does anyone know if it does grow here, as it is native to South America and South Africa, The pic is the chinese lantern, very similar, but ours is an opaque green colour, have you seen them here? TIA lickey..
