It would have left the factory as a 2WD, but changing it over to 4WD is a straightforward matter - and as its a European import (as is just about every single Ford tractor in Thailand) the chances are quite good that it has being modified in some way or another during its life - one of which could have being a change to 4WD.

Thailand is swamped with 2WD Fords (of all sizes) that have being mod'd over to 4WD - easy to tell: if it has a Carraro front axle (as a opposed to a ZF) chances are it started life as a 2WD.

I have never seen 4 wheel drive on a tractor in Thailand from factory or local modification. I have seen a lot of front wheel assist units, several modified since coming out of factory, as maizefarmer pointed out. Sounds like replacement parts will be no problem on your tractor Chris, as the dealer seems to have what he needs. Happy disking

MF,

I have a Ford 6600 Suar Rai (part 7600) - what should I expect to pay if I were to modify it for 4WD? Just a rough figure would be useful to know.

Thanks
