I just saw a 'Morning Talk' programme on TGTV Network (Satellite) linked to Middle East (my location)

A young Thai man was interviewed and examples of his company's products which are prefabricated teak modular 'sala' style houses.

The company was referred to as 'CBS (or CDS) Modern Home' but no address or contact numbers.

Can anyone tell me these? :o

These modular prefabricated Sala type houses, have become really popular in the last few years. There are a lot of them on the Highway from Bangkok to Pattaya, in all sizes and shapes. Wonder how much they cost? :o

Depends who's asking. :o

Bet they're not cheap though. And they're too small to actually live in, more intended to show you have a sense of Thai style while living in a modern concrete box. :D

I presume the Teak is from Burma(?) as it is illegal to cut down in LOS. I know someone who built a large Sala from Teak illegally - he had good contacts with the police - up North. The house is worth in excess of 10M Baht, but no one will buy because the wally built it right out in the middle of nowhere up north - there is absolutely nothing around it other than a couple of shanty shacks. Nearest town is about 10 minutes drive away!
