Besides that, a taxi from BKK airport is faster than flying from BKK-U Tapao and than a taxi/minibus from U Tapao to Pattaya 'city'.

Going to Sattahip, not Pattaya. And don't like taxis. Just prefer to fly if possible.

The buses from swampy to Sattahip / Banchang aren't bad. Nearly as fast as a taxi and only about 150 bht.

Once the 2 remaining overpasses are completed it shouldn't take more than 90 minutes.
