Living In Thailand With A Tv Solution?

Featured Replies

I made a post earlier and after doing some more reading it looks like it’s almost impossible for me to move to Thailand with anything other than a TV. It seems so weird that if you are self employed and earn enough money to sustain yourself why you cannot obtain a visa to work on this basis. I would be happy to pay Thai taxes on my income.

With regards to the tightening up of regulations at Thai embassies with regards to you needing an onward ticket from Thailand to your country of origin or at least a country far from Thailand is there not a simple solution?

Simply buy a return fair from your country of origin, source a ticket that does not have a limit on the amount of times you reschedule dates, they just charge you say a £50 fee. British airways have these tickets for one.

Simply arrive with a TV extend for 3 months rescheduling your flight for proof of onward journey (pay £50 to the airline) then do the usual visa run every 3 months and every 3 months pay £50 to the airline for rescheduling your flight. Then you'll never need to use the actual return flight and it will only cost you £50 every 3 months.

It seems unlikely you'll be refused an extension to your visa when you have a flight back to your country of origin e.g. the UK.

I do have a question.

Can you do the visa run 4 times a year and live in Thailand for all that time. Or is their a maximum number of days you can spend in Thailand per year??????????

At present there is no limit to the number of days you can spend in a year in Thailand on tourist visas.
