Firefox 3 Beta 4

The latest version of Mozilla Firefox 3, the Beta 3 is now available HERE for downloading.

It seems to be that there a lot improvements and that in the speed and Memory management as well. But better take a look by yourself!

Cheers.

I am running Firefox 2.0.0.12 at the moment. Clicked on "check for updates" in the help menu and received the message that there are no new updates available. Is that and advance release you got?

That means that you are using the latest STABLE version. FF3is a BETA version. Unstable as it is still in its testing stage. Some of the extensions that you are enjoying in ver 2.0.0.12 might not work with FF3.

Why would anyone want to wait until the next version is stable when its so much more exciting to download a beta to see if you can crash it and loose all your settings that took you years to set up the way you like. :o

yes yes back it up and there is no problem right... Murphy's law applies here.

This bata is/and has been, very stable. This is a browser - not an operating system.

I had uninstalled Firefox because I was getting all sorts of glitches. I really like the way Firefox works but just got too irritated with the problems. I have downloaded the Beta and it appears, so far, that everything is working great. I'll use it for a week or so and see if it remains stable. The best thing is that it appears to be as fast or faster than Opera. I really think my computer has some problems. I was using Flock and it became buggy too. I still have Flock on my laptop and everything works perfect.

For me the browser is where I live.. and where all my settings means everything to me... even the software I use now is all web based so I can work on it anywhere... but I maybe a bit more conservative than most.. because I have not moved to vista yet either.

Interestingly enough FF3 includes Offline Resources functionality, which may well prove to be of use to those using software as a service over the web, especially here, where the net can be, shall we say, problematic at times.

Regards

Thanks Reimar - downloading now.

And here the links to all 3 different versions:

For Windows

For Mac

For Linux

Cheers.

I don't know that having all your software web based and only available if you are connected to the internet would be considered conservative. I like being able to do work on my laptop during thos 1.5 hour trips to the factory, or on the flights around SEA. When my Internet connection goes down, I can still work. If everything was on the interent, I would have too much time that I could not work.

I don't know if it's the time of day, but it seems a lot faster to me. And I also quite like the look of it.

The only downside I can see, is that it doesn't support a Google toolbar , which I like because I keep all my bookmarks there so I can access from any computer.
