Electronic Tickets

Featured Replies

We're off on holiday to Melbourne next week and all we have is electronic tickets. I'm a bit paranoid but is there any way to check these things - all I have is an email from the travel agent. We are flying with Thai Airlines.

Do I just have to show the print out of the email and our passports?

Cheers

You should have a reference number Nee... you can go to www.checkmytrip.com and type in the reference number and it will show you your ticket.

But to check in you should use your reference number and your passport. A print out of the email should be fine :o

Thanks a lot!!

I can rest assured now - well about the flights anyway - atill the visas to check - electronic too. :D

E tickets are a great innovation, no more of that "who's got the tickets panic", and you don't even need your printout, just pop your passports on the counter, of course thats when they tell you that you spelt your name wrong and can't fly !!!

No worries, have a nice one. Btw, how competitive Thai via other airlines that route ? Will likely have to do it soon as daughter has moved down there.....

29000 for the wife and I

19,000 for the 6b year old

9,000 for the baby

didn't check the other prices as I want to go direct.

Can do it for under 15,000 by going to darwin, virgin blue, malaysia air asia - no thanks.

The print out of your electronic ticket may be asked for by immigation and customs, but when you check in at the airline service desk all you do is present your passport.

E_Tickets, all ya gunna be able to get soon.

Online bookings direct with airlines are no extra.

Agents charge average, $50.00 as booking fee.

Some online booking agencies charge up to 150 bucks extra for paper tickets.

Expensive, but they have to make them out and deliver them.

E_Tickets only way to go, deal direct with airlines, cut out middleman.

All you need is passport, some places need your ticket for confirmation of your onward travel, leaving the country. Seems dumb, that does not show yer really gunna leave....sheeeesh.

I saw hassle once in Melbs, summun of foreign extraction, non kiwi, had arrived from NZ on one way ticket on a foreign passport, non NZ. Dunno wot happened they took her off sumplace.

I thought airlines were supposed to filter those people out before departure.

With e-tickets you can view your bookings live on line which is handy for checking any schedule changes to your itinerary, there are 4 main reservation systems and each one has it's own site:

https://www.viewtrip.com/ - Galileo

http://www.virtuallythere.com/ - Sabre

https://www.checkmytrip.com/ - Amadeus

http://www.mytripandmore.com/ - Worldspan

You'll need your PNR (passenger name record) number to access.
