We then spent 11,000 baht putting in several rice paddies with maybe three or four rai still available for eucalyptus. Now we are told there are two VERY different species available. The original and now another that is supposed to be faster growing, shallow rooted but only good for one cutting. Does anyone know anything about this one cutting type?

We bought some of these 'faster' growing ones some time ago, I think if memory serves me correctly that they cost 50 satang more than the normal ones. I cannot comment on their peformance as shortly after planting we sold that place & haven't been back:) I can't remember being informed they were only good for one cutting though? My wife, who is very sharp on such things fully expected a normal lifecycle, only a faster growth time? I do know,however, there are many,many varieties of Euc.

I am looking into those new improved ones, all that i have been told is that their roots are not as strong as the previous ones, but they will give you three cutting
