Arrivals level, use one of the two taxi boots, ignore touts and walk outside.

Ask for bigger car such as Toyota break, they will assign driver who has such a car.

Make sure he will use meter, plus 50 baht airport surcharge, cost will be around 400B

Should not take one hour. Maybe tell driver to take new ring road avoiding down town.

If you can afford the cost take AOT Taxi/Limo located just as you exit from customs thru the glass wall. It will be more than mentioned above but with two children and luggage it will make life easier if your coming off a long flight.

Pass the touts with a "Miow Khrup", go to the taxi desk outside and pay the extra 50 baht to have your destination made clear to the driver. make sure the meter is on and dont pay more than 400 baht or so.

With kids and luggage it is by far the easiest way to go.

depends on what time of day as far as transit time - I'd book smth in advance and have someone waiting for you. You might have to pay a bit more, but worth it with two lil ones.

Many on TripAdvisor and similar travel forums swear by Julie's Taxi. 400 baht for a small car, 600 for a Volvo, and 1000 for a minibus (for ride into city - not sure if that applies to a transfer to Don Muang).
