Bückling and Matjes

I was waiting for this, thank you.

Or Matjesilet in Sahne sauce, Raeucheraal etc.hmmmmmmmmmmm

The reason why I've asked:

I have to go to Brussel in two weeks for a huge seafood show and looking for new products to import to Thailand.

wife found Bückling in Carrefour Gerd. unfortunately in oil and no taste :o of Räucheraal i can only dream :D i don't understand that no smoked seafood is available in Thailand. anywhere on this planet i can buy a huge big smoked mackerel and feast on it with a baguette. the same applies to Matjes in Sahne.

kippers.

Kippers are available in Villa. (I always have some in the freezer!)

But Loch Fine kippers are the pinnacle , last time I had them outside of Scotland was at the Q.Vc in Soi 1/2 dozen and not seen them for several years.

There are quite a few smoked fishes(sp) available in Gourmet market Emporium.

The guy at Roadhouse said they were going to start smoking products and selling from an on site deli, I'm not sure if it got off the ground or not.

Cheers

Gerd and Naam, I have a small australian produced smoker, and I have made Bucklinge and schillerlocken from native fish here in queensland, have not had much success with raucheraal, have not got the height in the smoker for eels, but the raucher sprotten are a big favourite with young and old, will bring some samples when we return in june :o Nignoy

....even here the same rule: SIZE DOES MATTER!

Gerd
