Allright, overstayed a couple days past my visa expiry date on the 12th of April. Went to the Jomtien Immigration office on the 17th (the only day they were open due to Songkran) and the official changed his stamp and didn't charge me for the overstay, only said I had an extension until the 19th of April....Yesterday. I went to a visa run company to make a run to cambodia, but I also found out my passport has had all its pages stamped. Okay no problem, but I won't be able to make it to the U.S. Embassy until tomorrow the 21st. I'm assuming it will take a couple days to get new pages added to the passport, and then one day after for me to make the run to cambodia. My question is, is this situation one that could get me in serious trouble at the cambodian checkpoint, or will it just be another late fee i'll have to pay up? Because I will be overstaying past my extension on my visa at least 5 or 6 days depending on the speed of the embassy.

I'm going to add pages, I was just wandering if this is a very serious situation or one than can just be solved with a wad of baht. Thanks for the reply

It only takes a few minutes to get the new pages added to your passport. Go in the morning, and you could maybe even make a border run on the same day.

You will probably not have a problem at the border. You will just need to pay the overstay fine at the border. The problem that you can have is if you are stopped on your way to the border by the police. If so, they will probably arrest you for overstay and send you to the IDC.

You could have several problems. Page addition should only take an hour or so. But as said you could be stopped by police on way to border or you could be refused entry into Cambodia. If either of these things happen you will likely be jailed and deported. It is always safer to depart from airport when there is overstay involved.

That's what I was thinking, leaving from BKK Intl and flying to siam reap or laos. Would you think that taking a visa run company might cut down on the chances of being caught since the company does all the paperwork? I would think that it is more likely that the company would refuse my reservation on the trip because of that.

I think most of the problems are on the trip to the border. If the police stop the bus and ask for ID, then you will be arrested on overstay. Less of a chance of you having a problem at the border with immigration or being refused entry into another country, but it could happen.

The airport is the safest way by far.

Consider going to Phnom Penh, as you can fly with Air Asia, very cheap airfare. Siem Reap or Vientiane will set you back much more.

Other alternatives are KL (no visa fee) or Singapore (again no visa fee).

Yeah, I assumed he just needed to get out ot Thailand and get another 30 days exempt stamp.

Indeed for double entry TV vientiane would be the best choice.
