Just thought i'd post of my first and last experience with coolangatta queensland australia immigration/customs:

Ive been through Sydney airport immigration over 40 odd times over the last few years and never had an aexperience like this.

On an airasia flight about 10 days ago from KL to gold coast airport i had the displeasure of coming across immigration there.

Firstly a yellow sticker was put on my arrival card at passport control, not sure if this is standard or not but can't ever remember one before.

After that i was led over for full search of luggage and person and then asked ridiculous questions about drugs etc. I was full body searched and then asked if i had anything internal. After denying having anything and getting angry at this point (anger withheld though) i was told i was being detained for purpose of further search. After this was negative i was told i was being handed over to the australian federal police for further questioning. once at afp office i was searched again and again asked if i was carrying drugs and again i denied any knowledge of drugs whatsoever. I was getting annoyed at this point as my connecting flight was getting close and if not over soon i would miss it. Finally the head <deleted> said he beleived me and i would be out in 5 minutes. At this point i asked him if tugan medical centre was still just up the road as i had an upset stomache from guardia and wanted to get some medication for it. his response - do you have any diarrhea with that and i replied yeah a little - well what a bad answer - now i'm told thats a symptom of carrying drugs internally and now its all back on again and i'm detained again and driven to ribena hospital for a ct scan to check if carrying anything inside me.

luckilly at the hospital i got a reasonable doctor who explained to me the type of scan that they wanted would produce 50 times the amount of radiation of a normal x-ray and that given my history of ct scans i should strongly consider letting them do it due to risk of tumours/ cancer. After quick thought of my health i asked what was the alternative and they said 48 hours of hospital stay shitting in front of them, at this point they looked irritated and that got my back up even more given my own irriatation and i said fuc_k you i'll stay for the 48 hours then unless you give me guarantee afp will compensate me for any future cancer etc as result of there scan.

anyway further discussion ensued as this scenario obviously annoyed them because now they needed to go get a warant to hold me in hospital for 48 hours. finally i said i would agree to a ultrasound or a standard xray with the minimal radiation and they egreed to the xray. Nothing showed up of course and i had now been with them for 8 fuc_king hours and missed my flight. they managed to get me on another flight and dumped me out the front of the airport in the pissing rain with my heavy bags. I was going to get a bus home when finally at sydney airport due to budget constraints and i was so exhauusted when i finally arrived about 10 hours late that i had to put $140 on my visa card for a taxi.

I'd really like to know if i would stand anywhere legally in getting reimbursedd for the cab or anything else from these pricks. i was not even given food the whole time i was in there custody and had not eaten the previous night so was fuc_king starving all day and also wanting a shit since 8am and being forced to hold it for another 7 hours.

Australia - what a fuc_king joke, i'm australian but i now fully hate this fuc_king country. beware anybody going through coolangatta airport - guilty or not.

Maybe you should become a moderator then but read the topics before making statements like that.

"Visas and migration to other countries than Thailand. For example postings about Thais going abroad or how farangs or Thais can enter other Asian or western countries."

its a post about a farang going abroad to a western country and its about immigration - how doesn't it fit?
