WeeGB Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 Hi, does anyone know where I can get a program (free preferably) that will let me control the sound levels on MP3 tracks, so that I can burn Cds and the sound level is constant? (IE not some loud and some quiet?) I have previously used a program called Zortam, but I have tried 3 times to buy this and each time my cards have been refused...no idea why...I purchase on the internet a lot, with no problems anywhere else. Zortam uses a system called normalizing which works a treat, something similar would be ideal. Thanks for your help.
Guest Reimar Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 There was an Software named Audiotools, a freeware same years ago which was doing an exellent job. Unfortunate that software isn't more available for download. I'll check my library I still have it and if, I'll place it on Download sometimes today. Please check at Download later this day. If some other User have that software as well, please let me know. I think the last version was 6.40. Cheers
Cuban Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 The audio burner software I have on another computer has a setting within Tools that does just as you seek, It's called Norbiol or Roxy or something like that - sorry I don't have the name as the PC is a few miles away - as I remember it was a freebie. I would expect other applications of a similar nature to have a similar feature. If still stuck in a few days I would be abl eto get the computer turned on to find the name, probably called George for all I know - memory failing.....
dave_boo Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 MediaMonkey is an excellent program. Not only can you use it as a media manager, it also offers normalisation. However, you might want to look into replay gain. Foobar 2000 is what I've seen recommended for that.
Deke Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 MP3Gain is another free program that does specifically what you are looking for.
stumonster Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 MP3Gain is another free program that does specifically what you are looking for. yes it works fine and will do a whole directory at once if you want - it is open source also when you are looking for programs , I would recommend having a search at sourceforge.net , a repository for open source software.
CosmicSurfer Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 Both MediaMonkey and iTunes will do Music Leveling... Both are free... But MediaMonkey has an Upgraded Pro Version that Burns faster. It also has a great ID Tagger.. including for Album Art. CS
