Humorous Thai Brand Names

made-in-china labels and directions for use, anyone? sometimes i am tempted to buy a product just for the labels on it...e.g. a toy that "ejects music" as you switch it on. :o without the politically-correctness virtues, one can really find a lot of hilarious lines from their labels...

There is this new "HARA" Thai fashion brand (you probably already have seen it in some shopping malls), in Hebrew it literaly means

"sh%@t". I wanted to buy their T-shirt for my friend with "HARA Paradise" written on it... :o

And of course don't forget all these "Porn Jewellery" and "Porn shops" etc...(and how about Bang Sue MRT station?)

Coon Cheese and Black Man mops raise a smile.

COON cheese is NOT Thai.

It is about the biggest selling cheese in the US of A

and the rest of the world too. :o

COON cheese is a poor excuse for cheese.

Real cheese lovers never think of eating it.

Ugggghhh....... Yankee gunk.

The slur maybe American but the cheese is Australian.

COON is the trademark of a cheddar cheese produced by the Dairy Farmers company in Australia.

Sorry about that, first tried it in US.

Just checked.,,,,, found this below.

COON a brief History

  • COON™ cheese was first marketed in Australia in 1935 when Edward William Coon was invited by Fred Walker to bring his cheese-making technology to Australia.

http://www.naturallycoon.com.au/live/coon_story.php

Fred Walker made a trip to the US in late 1930. In July 1931 the ‘Red Coon’ trademark was registered in Australia. This suggests that out of that 1930 trip Fred Walker picked up the Coon brand and concept from Kraft, recognising the marketing potential of catering for the latent demand for a stronger flavoured, natural cheese to complement the mild processed cheese that represented the major product of the Kraft Walker organization. The technical aspects of the maturing process would have been an essential accompaniment to the marketing concept.

Seems it was from Kraft in US.
