Teaching In Malta

Featured Replies

Please does anyone have any idea on the prospects of teaching in malta ?

nobody seems to know a thing about it. please help !! rav

Hi rav,

As far as I’m aware Malta is a part of the EU, so unless you are an EU citizen it might be difficult to find teaching work, especially anything legal. Preference is usually given to EU applicants – less paper work :D. In regards to ESL teaching there are some opportunities, however Malta was once a British colony and most Maltese speak English quite well, but again preference will be given to EU citizen (so if you're one than great :D). Check out some of the teaching websites, you might have some luck. Malta is a great country with some very beautiful people - have always been a sucker for Maltese eyes :o:D. All the best :D.

hi rav,

what is said is right...practically eberyone speaks english and italian, and the situation in EU is such that to get a job (if not an EU citizen) your employer must prove that there were no available/suitable EU applicant

hope it helps

Isn't this a Thailand message board? Anway, does anyone know about the prospects of teaching in zambia? nobody seems to know a thing about it. please help!!

Many of the teachers on this forum are working in Thailand already and might be looking for greener pastures elsewhere. Malta or Zambia could have as much potential as anywhere, but I think Vietnam might be the hot ticket right now.

I had a very nice couple of weeks in Malta with our kid in the mid 1980s. I don't know much about the teaching prospects there but it was bloody hot! I do know that.
