Thai Man drowns in lake in Banglamung.

Just after 10pm on Monday Evening, Police Lieutenant Colonel Chayaporn from Banglamung Police Station was called to a small lake located at the San Jareun Village in Lompok sub-district to follow-up reports of a drowning.

At the scene, rescue workers began searching the lake for Khun Boontaerp aged 53, who was known to have entered the lake to look for fish to eat. Friends of the deceased were alerted after he failed to return home on Monday Night.

A search uncovered his belongings next to the lake and his friends feared the worst and called the Police. It is thought the man suffered cramp when he entered the lake which led to his demise, however Police are waiting for the results of a post mortem examination before they close the case.

The police just can't keep their mouth shut...'they think it was cramps.' My guess is he got water in his lungs!

My condolences to the friends and family of the victim.

Wasn't there an exact replica of this fact scenario about a year ago at Maprachan Lake...right down to the police explanation of the guy having cramped-up and so couldn't swim back to shore and consequently drowned :o
