Story From Daily Life In Samui

The last 3 weeks I have had lot of problems connecting to TOT internet. It have gone on and off like a cracy male-rabbit. My wife have called 100 of times to TOT in Songkhla, Surrathani and Nathon. But they have only told her to shut down the modum for 10 minutes and then it will be OK. Bullshit, nothing happens.

Yesterday somebody told me to call TOT and Bangkok. I did so and was happy to speak with a nice English speaking lady. I told her my problems and she told me she would do her best to help me. I also said I was not happy to pay the internet-bill because they did not deliver. She then asked for my telephon number and the number of the invoice and promised to take care og this too. My reply to this was; sorry but the postoffice in Chaweng did not bring me the bill.

2 houres later she called me back and asked if I had connection to internet. This time my reply was the following; Sorry I cannot tell you because the electrik has gone. Then she was silent.

For my self I dont know if I shall laugh or cry. But when people tell that Samui is a paradise, I wonder how it is in hel_l.

I'm not sure but I've been told it's quite hot in hel_l...no need for electricity and computer.

I would want some A/C if I go to hel_l, that is IF, and a computer to write others how it is there!

If you want A/C & a computer you need a plug....if you need a plug you need electricity and that's extra !

I had the same problem with TOT, whatever you do just ditch TOT and go to either TT&T or CAT. TT&T have a 2k a month plan which is pretty good and you share the line with max 10 people, while my neighbours tell me CAT is the best on the island although it is more expensive again and you may not be in the right area to get it. Even the 1k a month plan with TT&T is much better than TOT.

sorry to spoil the thread,but i am with TOT(have phone line)ADSL...............590BAHT PER MONTH 24/7 internet access and have no problem,also get fast download.Also get the odd powercut,and no water,but what the heck!

I too have had an 'interesting' time with TOT.

I used to have the cheap 1meg package but kept on having trouble.

The ADSL light would go out for hour upon end or just flash then disappear.

After speaking with TOT they suggested upgrading to the 2 meg package as this would be a better signal.

Unfortunately the problem still persists.

Fair play to the Engineer.He has visited several times to check things and today he has let me 'borrow' a new Modem to see if it is my DLINK modem playing up.

lol a better signal with two meg package, the signal is only getting better if you lower the synchro ;-)

have a look at your line values, the attenuation should never be under 50db.

tried to get tt&t, went to tesco filled a form in, if we have a line its 500 baht , if not 950 baht but a man will go ad check and they will call in a week,2 weeks go by, ah yes its 2500 baht, what? can you check again, yes, 1 week later, oh sorry we have lost your paperwork can you fill another form in, yeah sure no problem(only joking) what a bunch of moody ignorant uneducated lazy

watercut is ok, but not for 3 to 5 days, having a 4000l watertank not help always, is not that we not pay for the water, if u not pay thay cut u off anyway very fast, i stay in a place with over 100 Familie homes and not all the houses have watertanks, thats a jock?, but not funny

Oh dear - somebody seems to be a little tense today. Please don't attack TV members for innocent remarks just because you bought a cr@p house, that was your decision.
