A friend of mine is getting divorced very soon under sad circumstances.

He is on a marriage visa status and the question he wants to know is, that once the divorce has been done, how many days will they give him after the visa has been canceled. 3/5/7days??anyone know for sure.

Yes, he should go to immigration and get it from the horses mouth but cannot at the moment.

Any help would be appreciated.

You are talking about a one year extension of stay? As such action would not effect a 90 day visa entry in any way.

As there is currently no grace period for those losing employment (they can apply and receive a 7 day extension of stay on day employment ends) suspect the same would be true for those on family extension. But do not believe it has ever been checked in the past - you just did not get another such extension of stay. Have not heard of anyone having a problem yet so suspect that is still the case but the 90 day address report could trip him up. I would plan to leave within the week and if want to return obtain a new visa entry; (if the ex did not work at immigration).

he is 2 months into 1 year multi entry where he does not have to leave the country during that time (he shows millions in the bank and 50,000 per month coming in) but has been told that when he goes to the amphors office to get the divorce, his visa expires.

There is no such Visa.

Either he has a 1 year multi entry where he has to leave every 90 days or he has a 1 year extension of stay where he does not have to leave.

Personally I would have thought that he would be OK until his current stay expires. But Lopburi knows a lot more about these things than I do.

It would be interesting to know who gave your friend this information.

If the multi-entry visa was issued based on his marriage, does that also become invalid??

Not that I think anyone would notice or check. :o
