NAKLUA GANGSTER GUNNED DOWN IN FRONT OF GIRLFRIEND IN MAFIA-STYLE KILLING

A notorious gangster, previously involved in press intimidation and drug dealing, was gunned down on May 15, 2008, at 8.20pm, in front of a Naklua laundry in a manner reminiscent of American gangster killings, being shot in the head and heart. At the time, he had been coming to see a girlfriend, who witnessed the brutal murder.

Receiving notification, at 8.20pm, of the killing in Moo 5, Soi Pattaya-Naklua, Pol.Col.Sarayut Sa-gnuen-bpo-kai, superintendent, with his team and Sawang Boriboon sped to the incident to find a host of eager bystanders surrounding the bullet-riddled, dead body of Mr.Sunthorn Bpati-sanoh (24), from Naklua, who was lying in a pool of blood, wearing only blue jeans and shirtless.

He had one shot to the right side of his head, one to his heart, one to his left hand and another one to his stomach. In addition, there were bullet holes in the washing machine in front of the laundry shop. Police found 6 .45mm bullet cases and another 3 bullets, which they kept as evidence.

Miss Sureerat Muengsiri (15), a friend of Mr. Sunthorn, who witnessed the shooting, told police that Mr.Sunthorn had been coming to see her at the laundry shop where she is staying. He had ridden up on a brown Yamaha Fino motorbike, when suddenly, a blue BMW car with no license plate, drew up in front of the shop. A Thai man, around 20 – 25 years old, leapt out of the passenger seat, and proceeded to fire 7 shots in rapid succession at Mr. Sunthorn, who died instantly, collapsing in a pool of blood. All Miss Sureerat's friends who were standing around had scattered in all directions. After she had regained her presence of mind, she called the police.

She said had no specific idea why her friend had been shot. She only knew that Mr. Sunthorn had conflicts with many people in the area. Pol.Col.Sarayut Sa-gnuen-bpo-kai, Banglamung superintendent, announced that Miss Netnapa Polsawat (18), a girl friend of the deceased, who had come to identify the body, had said that Mr.Suthorn had had a notorious reputation as a gangster in the area. She reportedly believed that it was likely a vengeance killing by one of his enemies.

Previously, Mr. Sunthorn had been involved in a Naklua teen-aged gang which had intimidated and attempted to kill of members of the press, specifically one of PDN's reporters, Mr.Kampee Arbsuwan. They had been reporting the news on May 11, at the time. Mr. Kampee and friends had subsequently reported the incident to Banglamung Police, but Mr. Sunthorn and the gang had used their familiarity with the area to successfully escape. Since then, Sunthorn had been causing trouble to many people and had used a gun to shoot many enemies.

Police initially attributed the killing to the deceased's involvement in a sexual affair, vengeance or a drugs deal. Police will closely follow up with an investigation of all his friends and hope to arrest the killer soon.

You'd think these reporters/writers would review the crap that they write.

When we figure out the difference between a "girlfriend", a "girl friend" and a friend that is a girl, maybe then we could understand.

Maybe when a "girl friend" comes of age she becomes a "girlfriend".
