Hi all

I am currently in Singapore where I'm getting a single entry tourist visa. I have 3 x 30 day stamps already in my passport, hence the visa to bridge me until I go home to the UK in early June.

My question is: can I leave Thailand to go to Hong Kong for the weekend and then come back to Thailand if I get a re-entry permit at BKK Immigration for the tourist visa? The visa is single entry and the lady told me they don't do multiple entry tourist visas which I found a bit confusing.

Hope this is clear.

Thanks for any help.

Yes you can obtain a re-entry permit - but I would do early as you don't have a visa exempt option if you miss out on the re-entry permit.

Did you actually STAY 30 days on each of your 3 x 30 day stamps?

You are not limited to 3 x 30 day stamps

You are limited to a total of 90 days in the Kingdom in 6 months on them.

Thanks for your help Lopburi3. That's good to know.

WilliamIV - yes, I used up pretty much all of my 90 day allowance with the 3 stamps, hence why I came to get the visa.

I have I think 3 days left of my 90 allowance. Presumably if I went back without a visa they'd let me in with a VOA stamp for just 3 days! That would be a bit nerve wracking at immigration

They do multiple entry Tourist Visas in Hong Kong so depending on your situation (how long in the UK and when/if you plan to return to Thailand) you may want to pick one up while you are there.

They may two or three entry tourist visas but I seriously doubt that do what they call "multi" (M) entry. That is reserved for non immigrant visa issue.
