The questions will be in regard to what she has written in her letter and the application form....so it should revolve around things such as your relationship, your work, future plans etc...

They will only call you in for an interview in Oz if there are any points that need clarifying.

The main thing is to be honest in the interview, and that the answers support the detail in the written application. She needs to have an accurate recollection of your visits to Thailand, knowledge of your situation in Aus, what is planned for the future etc. Make sure she does not panic and start inventing answers.

The purpose of the interview is to verify that the information given by the applicant matches the answers to questions asked by the DIAC officer. Also to verify as far as practicable that the "relationship" between the two people is genuine at the time.

It has been said before:

Make sure she dresses conservatively. i.e. appropriate for a formal interview.

Tell her to "be herself" but to be very polite.

It doesn't create a good impression if they go to the interview dressed in a mini-dress, tank-top and stillettos, chewing gum and yelling into a mobile phone. Just kidding - they have to leave the mobile at the front desk.

Agree with the other posters...tell her to be honest and relax...q's will also include :

Did (hubby) meet your family?

How did he ask you to marry him?

Did he meet with your mum and dad?

Essentially the interview is to ascertain if the relationship is genuine,...I was married 5 years (in Singapore) before we had this interview process...it was painless, but still very errr, well, confronting. Had photo albums, letters, joint bank acount stuff.....but still, they were very interested in the fact that I had been to see her mum for permission to marry..

You will be fine,, don't worry..

BUT: LET THE GROUP KNOW WHAT HAPPENED>>> PLEASE..

DIAC officers are restricted to the questions that they can ask, and they must apply to the particular visa application.

They have guidelines that must be adhered to under the privacy requirements which relate to information supplied.

Hi I agree with all of the above though we only submitted one letter(though very thorough) detailing our relationship how it began and future plans, all of the questions were based around that letter dates of when we met, decided to get married, etc and did I ask permission from her family to marry(which I stated in the letter)Two and a half weeks after the interview the visa for my wife was approved.
