I got to agree with Britmaveric on this one. The girls that are working at more mundane jobs like beauticians working at a mall bank 7-11 or just about any other real occupation OTHER THAN A BARGIRL OR A DISCO HUSTLING BAR GIRL, Will increase your chances dramatically of finding a sincere girl with a good heart that just may like you for yourself....Just don't epect to hear hansum man or Darkling...ahhh I mean darling. Lets face it the bargirls & prostitutes have good trainingin knowing the right words & the right smoke to take you for a not so righteous ride in the end game.

Agreed - but the girls in those 'mundane' jobs are wondering where they can find a 'normal' falang guy - as opposed to the prats who just see them as a cheap alternative to bargirls and think that buying dinner or paying for the cinema entitles them to bargirl style services.

Perfectly do-able. Had a great relationship with an optician for a year. Sadly didn't work out but fun whilst it lasted

However a warning. The non-bar girls who work normal jobs in Pattaya tend to come from Pattaya. This means they know everyone around town. The waiters, the service girls, the vendors pretty much everyone. Once you are known as a couple you are protected in a away you won't believe possible as you are 'one of them' for the duration but on the flip side your every move is watched and if you end the relationship it can get tricky.

You pays your money and you takes your choice...

Pretty true (haven't actually tried to calculate the numbers). The official (registered) population of Pattaya is only about 95,000+ people. Recalling the last election, where an estimated 50% of the people eligible to vote (about 33,000) actually voted, means the "official" registered adult population is about 66,000.

Thinking about it, I don't know a single Thai person that actually comes from Pattaya. None of my neighbours do. No one in the motorcycle cub does. I guess you could say some of the kids in the neighbour hood are from Pattaya, having been born there, but I'm sure they are actually registered in their parents home province.

Regardless of all that. You can meet "normal" girls all over the place, especially the further away you get from the "entertainment" venues. I know a nice lady that runs a laundry near soi 17 (too nice for me), another that is the head cook at a restaurant nearby, another at a tailor shop down the block. The biggest hurdle to overcome is obviously the language barrier.

If you don't speak her language, and she doesn't speak yours, chances are you aren't going to have any kind of relationship.

I wonder how many Thaïs now live in pattaya and are counted as resident of pattaya

I.e. part of the population of pattaya, who were born elsewhere in Thailand.

Like, Police, Doctors, Bank Clarks, ect, bet it's a good few

I use the internet and personal ads to meet the normal girls. More interesting and horny. Imagine how difficult it is for a normal girl to meet a nice guy. It's not like they can go up/down walking street hoping for a proposition. Many very pretty and educated women go months without any action.

You don’t seem to know about Thailand’s house registration system. Every Thai is listed on a document called a Tambien Ban (probably misspelled). Even people that have lived and worked on the Eastern Seaboard for many years are usually still listed in home district. Unless they buy property, most never bother to move their name to new residence

Mate you nailed it :o your logic is sound and I do the same in BKK.

I understand it more than you obliviously.

Some professional people buy homes and live in the Pattaya area for work reasons.

Other people transfer they status to the home they rent in Pattaya.

Or the company that rents the accommodation for them.

These people become part of the population of pattaya, i think, could be wrong.

But were never born here. Right or wrong ? if wrong please explain.

if I have got it wrong im sorry but please tell me.

BTW all Thais are not lazy as you like to hint at!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o

I get the felling you are hanging around with one type of person in Pattaya

Oink Oink

Unless they actually register as a resident (which it seems most that I know haven't), they are still technically considered a resident of their home province. Friend of mine is registered in Ayutthaya, owns property in Buriram, has a house and works in Pattaya.

As far as the system is concerned, he is still a resident of Ayutthaya though, as he has never changed that. My landlady, her sisters, her daughter and her daughter's kids (born in Pattaya) are all registered as residents of Khon Kaen, despite owning property and businesses in Pattaya and living there for years.

From what I've seen, very few actually transfer their status to Pattaya, which is why officially, there are less than 100,000 residents in Pattaya (unofficially I think it's around 750,000 now though in the "greater" Pattaya area). I noticed this quite dramatically (maybe that's a little too strong of word to describe it), in April when a lot of the shops in my area shut down, as my neighbours all went back to their home provinces to celebrate Songkran.

Irregardless, it is still possible to meet normal (non-bar) girls all over the city, from all over the country.

So basically im correct and one of your comments is

Just assumption based on a hand full of people you know.

Please remember I was talking about professional people in Pattaya

I did list the type of people if you go back and read my post.

Just for an instants, I’m sure people who wish to take part in local politics are registered in pattaya. But not always from Pattaya,

Get my drift.

Thanks. :o

try dateinasia.com its free to join get your profile on and photo, but be carefull just bcos you select a " non bar girl " it dont mean shes not after scamming you, its up to your own judgment and also bear this in mind if you meet a bar girl you like it doesnt mean shes gonna b bad, you just have to catch em b4 they get brainwashed, happy hunting

Selecting a "non bar girl" is no guarantee she's not a bargirl.

As long as your attempts at meeting these women are carried out discretely and in a socially acceptable way. There was a commentary in an English language publication in Udon Thani, pointing out an increasing trend for older farangs to hang around the malls and supermarkets, openly chatting up the staff. The young Thai women are too polite to say, 'sod-off you old geezer' so they smile and endure and the old duffers take this as a come-on. The same goes on in Pattaya I am sure except the coffin-dodgers are even less acceptably dressed and just look so much like a bar-hopping, freelancer-cruising, gray-wrinkly trying for an easy daylight score. My advice to those types is pull your bloody head in mate, you are embarrassing to watch and consider this; what's your chances of scoring the young check-out lady at your home neighborhood Tesco's or Woolworths, eh? It can't be done there so don't think it's acceptable here.

i got spoiled in bkk

and the rest of Thailand

sabai sabai

lots of smiles everywhere

in pat its mostly 'short time / long time'

most everyone is on the take

and the smiles are much fewer

anyone had good luck here?

shopping malls? grocery? internet?

or just give it up altogether?

forget about love and romance and true companionship for a spell?

Not that it helps much, but I got mine from Makro......came with a 12 month money back warranty :o

warrantys mean nothing in thailand :D
