jingjingna
I've tried one Indian minimart without success. Anybody got any ideas? I love Houmous and I know how to make it but finding these two ingrediants is proving to be a pain.
Pdaz
Two options for the chick peas.. You can buy them canned in Foodland, Friendship etc. They are called 'Gabanzo beans' or some such.. Or for better flavour you can buy them dried and cook them yourself.. they are available in plastic packs in Foodland, Villa Market (and friendship too I think). As for the Tahini paste the only place I have seen real Tahini is Villa market.. They have two or three brands available but none of them are cheap.. There is also a Japanese sesame salad dressing available in Foodland that is very similar and can be used as a reasonable substitute.. Hope this helps.. I also like to make hummous.. Loosescrew
I'd recommend you visit the Israeli owned/operated restaurant/bike shop on soi Buakow called Muay Thai Complex south of soi Diana.

Happened to go into my local Tops todays and and they have had a massive makeover, loads of imported stuff..Couldn't find the GABANZO beans/chick peas but did come across the Japanese sesame salad dressing. Had a good old look around and to my surprise found ready made Hoummus, Guacomole etc Wowwee..a bit on the pricey side but but some anyway. Will check out Villa and Friendship when I',m next in Pattaya.
