Recommendation On Bluetooth Headset ?

Featured Replies

Has anyone tried some of the bluetooth headsets? there seem to have been a proliferation of models lately. I'm after one that is fairly compact and doesnt need to be charged every 15 minutes. I'm a bit deaf so loud and clear would be good too :o

thanks

also check that your phone supports the headset profile, I think nokia phones support the hands free profile...do some checking on the google.

there is 2 different profiles, though the newer headsets should now support both.

Yes.Not all mobiles support bluetooth headset profiles. You gotta check it first.I have heard that Sony Ericsson Headsets are better than other brands.I never checked one by myself.I am waiting for them to be Stereo before i put my hand on getting 1 :o

Thanks, its actually to use with my pda (want to try pocket skype), which has a headset profile though i am not sure which one. I'm about to ditch my old phone.

Stereo would be cool, are they likely to come out anytime soon ?

Not only will you look like a freak, you'll sound like one too. Heavily digitized. :o But what I've heard may have been earlier technology.

How do you keep other nearby Bluetoothers out of your system?

I only allow paired devices to connect, and my file transfer folder is *not* the root directory! if you are paranoid I think you can also encrypt the connection, restrict the services your device offers, require connections to be manually authorised. PDAs aren't left on and unattended as often as phones due to battery life.
