Good day!

First of all i must say that this will be my first trip to Thailand. Me and my mate will be going from BKK to Koh Phangan on the 16th June.

I have noticed that the only way to go to Phangan is from Samui.

I see only bangkokair is flying to Samui and the price is around 7000 Baht (218$) for a round trip.

So my question is what is the nearest mainland airport to Samui and how can we go to Samui from that airport. Is it worth the time/money other thn directly flying to Samui. Can you pls advice the possible costs?

And lastly, our resort is located at the Haad Rin Beach. If we directly fly to Koh Samui, do we have to goto the very west of Samui to Na Thon thn take the ferry to Thong Sala or is there a direct way (ferry/boat) to go to the Haad Rin Beach when we get to the airport in Samui rather thn going to the west of the island. If yer, what would be cost probably be ?

Yes Surattani airport. Air Asia, One 2 Go and Thai Air fly there.

A lot cheaper than Bangkok Air. A bus meets the planes and takes you to the Ferry at Donsak. Around 300 Baht including the ferry. The ferry will go to KPG direct.

Can also get the train or bus to Surattani from Bangkok.
