October 26, 200421 yr I'm an American that is considering working/starting a business in Thailand. From reading the posts it appears I can own 100% of a Thai company. My question is, how do I go about doing this? How much will it cost? And can I make it in time to be grandfathered in? I have experience in internet consulting but am not entirely sure what kind of business I wish to start. If I start a business under the Amity Treaty can I change the business I particpiate in 2 years down the line? Does this make it any easier to get a WP or Non-Imm B visa?
October 26, 200421 yr You would be grandfathered in but must be setting this company up NOW!!!! The clock is ticking. I'm biased but feel we are a good place to go to on Amity. Our firm based on comments I’ve heard, has to be setting some type of record, on the most Amity applications filed in the last few months. They are now allowing a wide range of objectives on the Alien Business license. If you do this it’s easy to switch from Internet in a couple years. Otherwise you are stuck. It’s not easier to get a WP or Visa by having Amity. www.sunbeltasia.com
October 26, 200421 yr I'd start with doing a search on this branch and then perhaps talk to one of the two companies that seem to have a reliable reputation: Alphabetically Indo Siam and Sunbelt Asia I believe (but I am not sure) Indo Siam specialises in new start-ups while Sunbelt Asia is the place to go for buying and existing business. Both advertise on this site and I understand too both are very happy to talk to you about how they can help. I've seen both recommending each other where they thought the business was more in the other's line - which is encouraging.
