JohanBKK
My internet connection is very slow, i use true and i'm in Bangkok, lad phrao area. Do you have some information about that ? Began slow yesterday. Thanks.
paulfr
Tell me about it. I have True 1Mbps in lower Sukhumvit and it is often so painfully slow I stop surfing. Been meaning to switch, but I hear bad things about the other providers too. Thailand is not 1st world and this is one of the little prices we pay for living here. lopburi3
I am also in Lat Phao and it is crawling tonight - can't speak for yesterday as had lightning damage to modem and could only connect at 64 or 32 rather than normal 256 (uplink). Today have new modem and full speed to in-country websites but outside is painfully slow.
Guest Reimar
May you download Sam Spade from Thaivisa Download and do an Tracert to Thaivisa. As you can see in the following 2 Pics from today afternoon and evening the speed is ok. As you can see if the traffic reach the Internet gateway, here 122.144.28.1 via 61.91.210.1 the speed drops a bit. Check from your connection on which Gateway you are: TRUE or CAT. I'm on TRUE here at Samut Prakarn and that's ok. Cheers.
JohanBKK
I think maybe a routage problem, google is pretty fast because they have a lot of servers anywhere. But websites in France, Canada or US are very slow.

opalhort
I have the same problem on TRUE in Tungkruh, BKK. Get only about 30% of subscribed (1Mbps) speed domestic and international. Usual speed is about 80-90% Did already multiple router resets! Looks like they have a problem somewhere. Lets' wait and see. opalhort

MaxLee
It's the same old story... 6.00 pm to at least 11.00pm,... peak time for school children or university students to play Internet games all night long... Thailand does not have enough bandwidth to cover for their poor Internet service. And we gotta live with it At 12.00 when most of those Internet fanatics sleep, speed is faster until around 8.00 when people start working and do their business per Internet... Not bad at all! Cheers.
yeti
For whatever reason, your location, the package you use, or whatever you are going through True's proxy without any problem. But for me, the access to True's proxies, especially 58.97.25.101 is almost 10 times slower than for you. That's why you don't complain about your connection, that's why I complain about mine... I'm talking about True's transparent proxy, by which all customers have to go through. For you it's painless, for me it's painfully slow. Probably depends on our location or the package we use, anyway at the moment my connections sucks, and I'm not the only one with this problem. dotcom
I have 2MB from True. Works ok. I think lots of times the International link gets damaged by some fishing trawler dragging his anchor down in Singapore or whatever. Google the new link being built by the Malaysians. Our speed should improve once this is up & running. If you are having trouble connecting to local websites - some times your copper wires get corroded at the little black box. If you don't know how to repair it call True or TOT i.e. your local phone provider to send out a service tech. I am in a condo so it's totally out of my hands. If I notice slow speeds I reboot my router/gateway. Usually fixes the problem. http://hosted-communications.tmcnet.com/to...dband-cable.htm http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/20070427/m...ersea-cable.htm
