Hi I have returned to thailand to see daughter at first birthday.

I have bought with me my Original birth cert.

I am named on babies birth cert.

Baby is a little ill and I cannot bring her with me to embassy in bangkok.

Has anybody on here experience at getting their kid a brit passport.?

I am wondering if photos and birth certs are enough.

Thanks

Dan

I live in Dubai with my Thai wife and baby born in Khon Kaen in March this year. This week I applied for a British Passport for my daughter at the British Embassy here (in person alone) for which I supplied:

1. Original passports of my wife and self

2. My British long Birth Certificate

3. Original Thai Birth Certificate of my duaghter along with an English Translation

4. Original Thai Wedding Certificate along with an English Translation.

5. Two passport photo's of my daughter, one countersigned by a long term British friend.

6. Passport fee of about 5,000Baht (i.e. a lot less to process than in Thailand :o ).

Passport will be ready after 2 weeks which means my wife and I can't travel till then as we surrendered our passports.

No not same procedure at all, if you were living in Dubai with your Thai gf/bf and baby you'd probably all be staying at 'His Majesties Pleasure' :o !!

Seriously, I'm not sure, the documentation in the link above seems to indicate if the child was born after 1/7/06 all you need is a birth certificate showing you as the parent ?

Best to give a call to the Embassy ?
