A middle-aged Thai man was found brutally murdered, in the early morning of June 13, 2008, with his throat torn open, dumped on the roadside in Bongai-Taothan Road, Moo 5, Sattahip. From the fact that he was wearing a Chelsea FC football jersey, the police initially assume his death was gambling related.

At 7.30am, on June 13, Pol.Col. Suphatee Boonkrong, Sattahip Superintendent, was notified by the discoverer that the body of Thai man had been found face down in the grass at the roadside in Bongai-Taothan Road. An investigative team was sent to the location accordingly.

There they found the deceased, 40 – 45-year-old man, whose throat had been slit. He was wearing a red Chelsea FC football jersey with the No.21 on it and black jeans, which had slipped down to his thighs. Police examined his body and searched his trousers pocket, but found no identity documents.

The rescue team noted that he had large, deep cut on his neck, presumably caused by a sharp object. Inspecting the area, police also found a pair of jeans, a white T-shirt and a pair of white sneakers by the side of the deceased. Not far from the body, there was also a black cap with the embroidered phrase "ELEM" on it. Police kept all the findings as evidence and will co-operate with Sattahip police to attempt to find the dead man's relatives and inform them of his death.

Pol.Col.Suphatee estimated that the man had been dead for about one day, and presumed that he might have had a football gambling-related conflict, due to the fact he was wearing a copy of the football jersey of Chelsea FC wing forward, Salomon Kalou, No.21. The victim could well have been involved in football gambling or have had a gambling debt for which he was killed

*Another case "solved" by the BIB
