Jomtien Go-go bar raided for nudity and lewd shows

following police probe

PATTAYA: -- Pattaya police, led by Pol. Lt. Col. Methee Preecha, raided the ‘We are the Champion” go-go bar on in Jomtien at 1 a.m. on October 20. The raid followed a police investigation into lewd activities.

Undercover criminal investigation units, armed with a hidden camera recorded the lewd activities in which the ‘showgirls’ used a variety of props on stage.

Once signaled, police made the move. As they approached the door, hostesses signaled the performer to the leave the stage and hide upstairs. Aware of the woman’s actions, police waited before entering the premises. They searched the building to find 5 ‘showgirls’ hiding upstairs. With video evidence of the activities the girls were each fined 500 baht for their lack of modesty, while the DJ and owner were detained for allowing such inappropriate activities to take place. The DJ was charged for playing pornographic movies in the venue. The bar was closed and both men were charged accordingly.

Sorry to bring this up again, but a friend of the owner has told me this raid was done after an under cover falang tourist policeman gave the signal, after taking a girl upstairs.

Howard, please prove this to be wrong.

Bartender,

The tourist police volunteers do not work with Pattaya Police on these cases. A foreign man may well have been used, this sort of thing has been going on for years, well before i came to Thailand. I'm sure the owner is very angry and is just pointing the finger at us as it is the simple option.Did he recognise the foreign man, was he wearing an ID badge, a description of the man maybe. I am absolutely against foriegners spying on bars, however as previously discussed they may have to do it to clear a problem they have with the police. If they are doing it for their enjoyment then the individuals must be exposed.

Actually George from the King Kong bar Soi Yodsak was the worst grass, he has now got his comeuppance so to speak and is not in good favour with the normal police.

Yes he got closed down for a while this year.

Howard how long do you think you will be in their good grace books for?

Close them all !!!

The only way to improve Pattayas image is to rid it of Sex Tourists.

I await Thaksins war on Sex Tourism with great anticipation.

:D

You`ll probably look like your avatar by the time that happens :o

You joining the ranks, bartender?? :o

No way.

The thai bar owner was bailed for B150,000 by a farang I know,he then went to court with the thai last week where the owner was fined B45,000,and he got his bail money back.

This was all thanks to this farang grass.

He just passed his mobile phone with the video on to the police, who used it in evidence.

They know the guy's face who did this

Wait a minute..."the farang who did this"? Wasn't it the bar owner who broke the law? Is it so difficult to operate a bar without resorting to illegal shows?

Mr Dick, are you advocating the grassing up of all bar girls because they maybe selling their bodies and receiving money for sexual favours. which i might add is against the law here in Thailand.

Mr Dick, I am sure you did not come to pattaya to view its beach, if you live here i am sure its not because of the great attractions they have, ie the sri racha tiger zoo etc etc.

Basically if you live in the chonburi area all it has going for it is its night life, thats all its got.

Whether it is legal or not.

Actually, I do go to Pattaya for the beach. But that's beside the point.

I don't need to see a woman open a Coke bottle with her <deleted> to enjoy myself, and am quite happy watching attractive girls dance in bikinis. If bars want to put on a three-ring circus (or human side show) in violation of the law, I don't have much pity for them when they are caught. Whether a foreigner was involved in "grassing" them or not is irrelevant.

The point of this thread was not really about the legality of what goes on in the bars, but rather whether farangs should be doing this, possibly maybe because the police have a hold on them in some way.

Dick is a grass as well, I saw it in another forum thread, happy to break the laws that suit him!

What laws would those be?

And as far as selective law enforcement goes, it seems like many of the same people who scream bloody murder when police enforce vice laws are the same ones who go crying the loudest to police to enforce the laws when they themselves are the victim of crimes that don't suit them.

Everyone wants it both ways, eh? We want the cops to ignore the laws we find "unfair", yet take a tough stance against crimes where we are the victims.

What's wrong with the police using people in a capacity such as this? Darned near every police force in the world will exploit any resource that comes their way. Whether it be an informant, a stooly, a turncoat or some dimwit who got nailed for some petty thing and they are trying like heck to get out from under it. Number one phrase used by those arrested is: "How do I fix this? I'll do what ever it takes."

I for one would like to see more action by the police and the government in controlling these activities. Why? you might ask...it's simple, my wife's 14 yo cousin was abducted by a prostitute wrangler this past May. It took over a month to find her. She was found not by the police but by one of her Aunts who is a teacher near Pattaya.

Just one man's opine.

You're not alone, Eric. Thailand might not be so much "fun" (if you can call it that) without ping-pong shows and whore houses as far as the eye can see, but the Thai people will certainly be better off once all that is gone.

Eric

let me guess, you never met your wife in a bar 555 I know hundreds like you, I was her first farrang, she only danced never went with customers, worked waiting table blah blah blah

No but in a minority and why is it the moral police always think they know better, do you honestly believe Thailand can just switch it off without causing hardship to untold thousands of Thai people, just remember the Thai - Thai sex industry is double the size of the Thai farrang sex industry here.

So you are telling us you come to Pattaya for the beach? do you enjoy the turd spotting competition?I take it you dont actually go in the sea though.

If you do it would be a good idea to check for cuts and grazes before you venture into the sea.

You forgot to mention Howard.

Dick- until good paying jobs are created, I dare say we will all be dead and buried before prostitution is ended in Thailand.

Absolutely agreed, britmaveric. The social revolution that is needed in Thailand is not going to happen overnight. One of the first things that needs to be revamped is the education system, which by even the modest standards of its neighbors is just plain awful.

But perhaps prostitution also bears a great deal of the responsibility for the fact that only 30% of Thais graduate high school. What 16-18 year old wants to stay in school when it is so easy to make a relative fortune selling their bodies from the relative comfort of go-gos, beer bars, and massage parlors. Prostitution doesn't stay quite as glamorous when you have to walk the streets.
