Hello, everyone.

I am going to fly to Amesterdam from Bangkok at summer.

I checked the plane fares on KLM website, which is THB 41665 for one way (!!!)

Than I found another flight on airberlin, it's about THB 19000 but for round way.

Is it not smart to buy a one way ticket through airline website ?

Where can I find a cheaper ticket to Amesterdam ? Should I find an agency in Thailand ?

Any suggestion ? :o

I would do as you have done (search out various options and prices before hand), then I would contact one of the sponsors at the top of the page (SaveFlights or Thaivisa Travel), tell them what you'd like and see if they can come up with a better price (or better option) for you.

I've done a quick search, and it looks like the cheapest option I can find (using Expedia/Kayak and similar sites), for a one way ticket from Bangkok to Amsterdam, on 15 July, is $774 US with Turkish Airlines. (about 25,860 baht)

I just checked the Air Berlin website as well, and it shows a price of 43,145 baht for a one-way ticket. (ps: their site sucks.)

Malaysian Airlines has a one way flight for $1004 US.

Interesting. SaveFlights shows a China Air direct flight, Bangkok to Amsterdam, for only 21,000 baht (about $628 US).

The price I found on airberlin is actually Bangkok - Frankfurt One way...... :D

Not to Amesterdam.

I was thinking might fly to Frankfurt than change a train to Amesterdam, which would be only 39 EURO One way.

Anyway, I will check agency and keep search cheaper value. Thanks for the suggestion. :D

you can do better

1.AB flies daily BKK-Deutschland, but the destination in DE varies by day. the best is DUSSELDORF (they do NOT fly direct to FRA!!), and use train from there. In the main Euro summer AB is NOT cheap (in sept you can get singles for about 220 Eur=12.000THB, ALL IN!), but theyre about the only 1 who offer cheap SINGLE for online. IF youre lucky you can get via same site bahn.de singles to AMS from DUS for just 19 eur (but remember; if the plane is uch dalayed, and miss this train, you loose that money!!). However, AB has a very good ontime+safety record, their onboard service is reasonable (pay for alco+headsets, like any US-airline), and the seats are said by many to be cramped (I have Thai size and no prob with that)

!! If you are Thai, and must get Schengen-visum: they will be VERY nasty/impossibel to get if you use 1-way tickets to enter Schengen area!

2.saveflights only tells prices FROM, without all the taxes, and you have to cal/contact them ayway to find that these low prices are NOT available at all during the whole summer.

3.what some helpful one above here has sought: thats the problem, INTERnational websites llike kayak/expedia do NOT offer any cheap fares FROm Thailand. really; except AB the best way is still to contact an few agents (not all do all airlines).

4,Ive asked the same when I was in BKK late 07:

the best deals from most agnets are:

KU=Kuwait air, to FRA, via their Kuwait hub, a DRY muslim airline, from 16.000 THB/all-in

MS=Egyptair, via Cairo, To AMS!!!, from about 18.000 THB

prices will have gone up since, due to fuel surcharge. and remember 1 more time; in the main euro summer=from july till early Sept. NO low fares at all will be found. but 19.000 is very reasonable for that time.

Not sure if you are aware of this but if you use a one way ticket you should also have a visa for Thailand, its possible you may get hassle at the airport.

l know in the UK you get alot of questions when trying to board a flight using a one way ticket, l used to use them regularly myself because l was never sure when l was returning to England, now l find it's easier to use a return that you can change the return date on.

Officially you must have a return ticket to gain entry into Thailand on a 30 day toursit visa but im not sure if they do check or not at Bangkok.

If have a visa already no problem with the one-way ticket. Good luck :D
